FIELD: protection of metals from corrosion.
SUBSTANCE: corrosion inhibitor composition contains (a) at least one diethanolamine-gluconate salt and (b) a biodegradable cationic compound having a molecular weight less than 500 Dalton, wherein the biodegradable cationic compound is choline chloride. Another version of the corrosion inhibitor composition contains at least one salt of diethanolamine-gluconate, isoascorbic acid as an antioxidant and a buffer containing calcium oxide.
EFFECT: corrosion inhibitors meet environmental requirements and are capable of preventing/suppressing corrosion in the presence of oxygen, especially in brines with high TDS (total amount of dissolved solid substances) used in oil deposits.
