SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of uranium from a sulfuric acid leaching solution. Extraction of uranium involves contact of sulphate solution from leaching (I), which is an aqueous solution containing from 30 to 200 g/l of sulfuric acid and from 1 g/l to 50 g/l of uranium, and strong-acid cation-exchange resin (I). Contact is carried out by passing solution (I) through a fixed layer of resin (I), wherein solution coming from fixed layer will be solution (II), and the modified resin will be resin (II). Process is carried out until ratio of concentration of uranium in solution (I) to concentration of uranium in solution (II) does not fall below 10:1, after which the solution (II) was separated from the resin (II), containing UO22+ cation, followed by elution of uranium from the resin (II).
EFFECT: method makes the process more environmentally friendly due to the failure to use organic solvents.
