FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in power engineering for protection of power transmission lines with renewable energy sources (RES). According to the method of protecting power transmission lines with renewable energy sources with three-phase control of switches, including with branches, at each end high-frequency signals are generated for transmission to the other end of the line, wherein at the end with renewable energy sources a blocking signal is formed, on the side of the supply end of the network when determining the fault in the line, a disabling signal is generated, which at the other end of the line with renewable energy sources at actuation at this end of the maximum negative power direction relay or the positive-sequence current minimum relay, which prepare the disconnection circuit, enables the disconnection. At the supply end of the line the disconnection is performed at protection actuation and absence of the blocking signal from the blocking relay direction of negative sequence power or positive sequence current relay supplied from the end with renewable energy sources.

EFFECT: providing fast operation and absolute selectivity of protection on lines with RES.
