FIELD: engine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in free-piston engines. Method of blowing is carried out in external combustion chamber (1) of free piston with opposite motion of pistons of power module with external combustion chamber and with linear electric generator. Power module includes piston groups of free-piston machines, external combustion chamber (1), control system, nozzle (2), outlet valves (13), (18), (22), inlet valves (5), (17), (23), compressor cavities of pistons (6), (9), (24), check valves (11), (12), (20), (21), (25) and expansion chambers of pistons (6), (9), (24). In order to blow the external combustion chamber (1) of the power module when the power module reaches extreme divergence points by the piston groups, the control system stops supplying fuel injector (2) to the external combustion chamber (1) and opens outlet valves (13), (18), (22) and inlet valves (5), (17), (23). Combustion products from external combustion chamber (1) are ejected into atmosphere through exhaust valves (13), (18), (22) and inlet valves (5), (17), (23). Compressed air from pistons (6), (9), (24) compressor cavities through check valves (11), (12), (20), (21), (25) enters combustion chamber (1) and displaces from it and expansion cavities of pistons (6), (9), (24) combustion products, thereby providing fuel ignition in combustion chamber (1) during next start-up of power module.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of electric power consumption of blowdown process of external combustion chamber.
