FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for treating an initial material, wherein starting material (1) comprising at least an organic material, are mixed at mixing stage (4) to produce mixed material (5), and mixed material is mechanically pressed at pressing step (8), at which temperature of mixed material rises due to pressing, and preset product (9) is obtained at pressing step. Invention also relates to use of said method. Due to the invention, different initial materials can be used when producing various products of different sizes, such as composite products. Due to invention, initial materials with low degree of processing, as well as wastes, discarded and residual materials, can be easily processed and formed in the form of useful products.
EFFECT: by means of invention it is possible to reduce amount of wastes falling on garbage dumps and to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide.
