FIELD: waste water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wastewater treatment and can be used in municipal services and various industries for cleaning industrial and similar wastewater from metal ions, oil products, organic contaminants and odor. Wastewater treatment is carried out successively in mechanical cleaning unit containing sand trap, averaging device and horizontal settling tank with corridors. After wastewater are fed into averaging device, wastewater is analyzed to determine composition and concentration of pollutants. Depending on contamination of waste water, a composition of adsorption-filtering materials based on vegetable wastes is chosen. Adsorption-filtering material used is modified lignocellulose-containing materials – acid-treated barley hulls – ATBH, acid-treated oat hulls – ATOH, acid-treated wheat hulls – ATWH, thermally treated oat hulls – TTOH, as well as ground mixed leaf litter – MLL. Moreover, when used normally soiled wastewater composition adsorption -filtering materials from ATWH, TTOH MLL and ratio (3–1):(2–1):1, respectively. At contaminated wastes with predominance of oil products composition of adsorption-filtering materials from ATWH, TTOH and MLL is used at ratio of (3–1):(2–1):(0:1) respectively. At contaminated waste water with predominance of metal ions there used is composition an of absorption-filtering materials from ATBH, ATOH and TTOH in ratio of (3–1):(2–1):1, respectively. Composing adsorption-filtering materials into cassettes and loading into blocks, which are installed at the end of each corridor of horizontal settler, then, waste water is fed into a horizontal settling tank for sorption and settling at rate of 5 mm/s for 2 hours.

EFFECT: disclosed method for purifying waste water increases efficiency of purifying waste water, reduces load on biological treatment facilities and atmospheric air pollution by using sorption materials made from vegetable wastes.
