FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used as a means of diagnosing the state of steam-conducting systems of thermal power plants for measuring residual deformation of creep of tube elements from heat-resistant steel. Device for periodic monitoring of changes in geometrical dimensions of pipeline section is made in form of removable device, comprising flexible tape with elements of spring-loaded lock joint fixed at its ends and aligned in this connection with band coverage of pipeline cross-section. At that, the tape is equipped with magnetic plates rigidly attached with periodic pitch to its external surface. At that, elements of lock connection have same length of their bases and are made with bevelled top surfaces, wherein their chamfer angle α between planes of their bases and planes of their upper surfaces is determined by relationship: where G is half the length of the base of one of said locking joint elements, R is the nominal outer radius of the pipeline.

EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of measuring perimeter of controlled section of pipeline at any configuration of its controlled section.
