FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to a protective device which can be used for prevention and treatment of human diseases as a means of nonspecific prevention in epidemics of acute respiratory diseases. Medical mask represents a medical mask on a fabric or nonwoven basis treated with 10 % alcohol solution of fir essential oil obtained from Siberian fir needles by water-steam extraction method. Solution is applied on the outer layer of the mask in amount of 0.5 +/- 0.01 ml.
EFFECT: technical result is the creation of an effective protective means in the form of a mask having simultaneously improved barrier functions and antimicrobial properties.
