SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for applying a product to be distributed on a user's skin by iontophoresis, and a method of detecting the absence of a product to be distributed in a distributing chamber of the product applicator. Device comprises storage device for product to be distributed, distribution chamber, first electrode for iontophoresis, electronic control circuit, means of measuring physical or physicochemical parameters. Distribution chamber is intended for placement of the product subject to distribution in it. Measurement means of physical or physicochemical parameter are connected to electronic control circuit and are made with possibility to transmit signal, indicating parameter measurement. First iontophoresis electrode and measuring devices are placed in the distribution chamber. Electronic control circuit is configured to compare the measured value of the physical or physical-chemical parameter in the chamber with a control threshold value for detecting the absence of the product in the chamber. In the method for detecting the absence of a product to be distributed, measuring the physical or physical-chemical parameter in the distribution chamber by means of measurement means, transmitting said measured value to an electronic control circuit, using said electronic control circuit said measured value of physical or physicochemical parameter with reference threshold value, detection of product absence in distribution chamber is performed by means of electronic control circuit.

EFFECT: provided is a device for applying a product to be distributed on the user's skin by iontophoresis, enabling to obtain information on absence of product without interruption and providing protection of user's skin, higher accuracy of measurements.
