FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to diagnostic aids in the form of swallowed data recorder. A signal-generating food substance contains a digestible material, a collection of communication devices connected to the digestible material, each of which contains a first material physically connected to a carrier structure in a position different from that of the first material. The first material and second material are electrically isolated from each other and specified so as to form a potential difference when in contact to a conductive fluid to provide an energy actuating the communication device. The carrier structure comprises a control unit electrically connected to the first material and second material and configured to adjust conductivity between the first material and second material to modulate electric current passing through the conductive fluid between the first material and second material, and thereby generating a detected coded current sequence. At least the first communication device from the collection of the communication devices are integrated into a first coating configured so as to solve in the user's stomach thereby actuating at least one communication device in the user's stomach, and withstand chewing pressure to prevent at least one communication device from being actuated while the user chews the signal-generating food substance. At least one second communication device from the collection of the communication devices has a second coating, which degrades when the user chews the signal-generating food substance thereby actuating at least one second communication device in the user's mouth.

EFFECT: using the invention enables reducing the risk of environmental hazard.
