FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production of materials absorbing melts of chemical substances. First, starting material is prepared in form of a mixture containing resol resin and pore-former—solution of oxalic acid in polyatomic alcohol, to which an oxygen-containing nickel salt is added as an activating additive. Obtained mixture is evacuated, poured into mold and cured in oven at 65–75 °C. Cured workpiece is heat treated at 400–450 °C and constant removal of generated gases. Obtained phenol precursor is impregnated with a resol solution of the resin in a volatile organic solvent in weight ratio (3–5):1 and dried. Then carbonisation is carried out at constant removal of formed gases in metal cell in muffle furnace without air access at 850–900 °C with uniform temperature rise at rate of 2–3 deg/min. Obtained open-cell microstructured carbon material has a micro-mesh or microsphere structure and high mechanical strength.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to adjust density and mechanical strength in thin layer of material.
