ELECTRIC PULSE IONISER OF FUEL Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC F02M27/04

Abstract RU 2737125 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to devices for fuel treatment by electric fields before its supply for combustion. Disclosed is an electric pulse fuel ioniser comprising a hollow dielectric housing 2 in form of an axisymmetric cylinder with inlet 7 and outlet 1 nozzles, forming ionisation chamber 9, in which there are electrodes 4, 8 connected to high voltage source. Electrodes 4, 8 are arranged in pairs in sections perpendicular to axis of symmetry of cylindrical part of ionisation chamber 9, wherein electrodes of each pair are oriented diametrically opposite to each other and are connected in pairs to different poles of high-voltage pulse converter 3, which generates and alternately supplies high voltage to the next pair of diametrically opposite electrodes in the sequence directed towards fuel movement. Frequency of high voltage supplied to electrodes is in the range of frequencies of natural vibrations of fuel molecules, which forms between a set of diametrically opposite electrodes a pulsating volumetric electric field of high intensity, consisting of a set of homogeneous electric fields of high intensity arising between each pair of electrodes. Gaps between pairs of diametrically opposite electrodes are reduced in direction from fuel supply 7 to ionisation chamber 9 to exhaust pipe of treated fuel. At outlet of ionization chamber there is cone 10 connected with nozzle 1 for fuel discharge. For pre-activation of supplied fuel and destruction of stable polymerized groups of supplied fuel molecules at inlet 7, high-frequency electromagnet 6 and ultrasonic radiator 5 are installed in ionization chamber 9.

EFFECT: invention allows improving power and economic parameters of the engine due to higher completeness of combustion of treated fuel, as well as reducing toxicity of exhaust gases.
