SUBSTANCE: invention relates to identification of a vehicle driver. Method for identifying a person as a driver before an individual enters a vehicle and intended for use in vehicle comprises reception of driver identifier and probability from mobile device, adjustment of vehicle settings in accordance with stored preferences for driver identifier, using a sensor device in a vehicle to confirm a driver identifier by measuring biometric data of a person and sending a confirmed driver identifier to the mobile device as feedback to increase the accuracy of subsequent gait analysis, used to determine conformity of driver identifier with a person. Driver identifier identifies a person as a vehicle driver, a driver identifier is determined by gait analysis in a mobile device, probability indicates probability of gait analysis correctly determining driver identifier with a person.
