SUBSTANCE: invention relates to driver identification system and method. Vehicle driver identification system comprises a controller including a prediction module to determine a common setting with respect to two known drivers, and a driver identification combining unit. At that, driver identification combining module is programmed to collect individual reliability levels received from plurality of identification modules, and output an aggregate confidence level signal representative of the driver, based on reliability levels received from the plurality of identification modules. Vehicle driver identification method, comprising steps of: collecting, through a plurality of identification modules, information about a driver, determining a driver's credibility based on information on the driver, individual reliability level is generated through each of the plurality of identification modules, individual reliability levels are assembled, and an aggregate confidence level signal is generated.
EFFECT: timely identification of the vehicle driver.
