FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to proppants production technology. Magnesium silicate propane producing method consists in annealing serpentinite at temperature not lower than 900°C and milling it to fraction size of not more than 40 mcm. Further, adding an X-ray amorphous silica-containing component in an amount of not more than 15% by weight, adding a magnesium sulphate solution to a moisture content of the charge of not more than 20% by weight, moistened charge is granulated with subsequent drying and fired product at temperature of not less than 1340°C. Silica-containing component used is a product obtained as a result of leaching serpentinite.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and improved properties of proppant.
