FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: method is intended for movement of vehicles and spaceships. Pair of forces (4) is applied to untwisted rotor (1) creating a torque relative to the center of mass (3) of the rotor directed perpendicularly to the rotor own axis of rotation (hereinafter - axis). This causes axial precession around point (3). Axis orientation is continuously adjusted by means of pair of forces (4) so that axis continuously passes through remote point (2) at any displacement of rotor in space. At the same time external force (5) is applied to rotor, which is perpendicular to axis and creates moment of force relative to point (2), causing precession of axis around point (2). Center of mass of the rotor moves due to precession of the axis. At that, angular speed of rotor proper rotation is maintained much higher, than angular speed of precession of axis.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to instantly vary speed of an object due to inertia-free precession of the axis, and also to use during movement accumulated kinetic energy of rotation of the rotor.
