FIELD: machine building; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas transportation via main pipelines, namely, to a method for verification of a larger-diameter flow meter, which is part of a single-line gas-measuring station. Method comprises connecting a verified flow meter of larger diameter to a standard flow meter of a smaller diameter, setting the flow rate of the gas through the verified flow meter and the reference flow meter, calibrated verified flowmeter is used with reference flow meter in range from minimum value of flow rate of gas flow meter to maximum flow rate of reference gas flow meter. Further, measuring lines having a smaller diameter than the diameter of the verified flow meter are used, or measuring lines containing flow meters are used, having smaller dynamic range of flow rate measurement than dynamic range of verified flow meter, wherein measuring lines are connected in parallel to each other and connected to a reference flow meter. Then, gas flow through the standard flow meter is set by means of a flow rate control valve and measuring lines are separately calibrated using a standard flow meter, after which the calibrated measuring lines are connected to the verified flow meter and the verified flow meter is verified in the range from the maximum flow rate of the gas of the standard flow meter to the maximum flow rate of the verified flow meter. At that, gas flow through the verified flow meter and metering lines is set by bypassing part of gas along the bypass line, thus switching off the reference flow meter.

EFFECT: possibility of checking a flow meter of larger diameter in the entire operating range of flow rate using a flow meter of smaller diameter, that is confirmation of the possibility of creating a verification assembly in place of operation for a large-diameter flow meter, as well as high accuracy of such verification of a large-diameter flow meter built into the main gas line, due to maximum approximation of the reference flow meter to the verified flow meter and using comparison with the comparator.
