SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a laser-ultrasonic flow meter with automated verification and calibration and a method for measuring flow using such a flow meter. Flow meter comprises an ultrasonic flow rate transducer unit, a laser flow rate transducer unit, a particle supply unit configured to direct particles into a measurement area of the flow rate laser transducer unit; data processing unit, wherein the data processing unit is further configured to compare the fluid flow rate data of the ultrasonic transducer unit and the fluid flow rate data of the laser transducer unit and issuing a notification on the calibration result of the laser-ultrasonic flow meter based on the comparison; wherein the data processing unit is further configured to calibrate the ultrasonic flow rate transducer unit based on the comparison.

EFFECT: possibility of automated verification and calibration of a flow meter without using a bypass line.
