FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to radar and can be used to identify aerial targets using a radar using ultra-wideband LFM probe signal. Comparison of the range-of-view portrait with the reference one is carried out taking into account amplitude-phase distribution of the intensity of brilliant points range by quadrature convolution in an optimal accumulator, determination of the maximum result of convolution and deviation from symmetry. Device realizing the method comprises a transmitter, a transceiving antenna, an antenna switch, a high frequency amplifier, a mixer, an intermediate frequency amplifier, an analogue-to-digital converter, digital intermediate frequency receiver, digital compression filter, quadrature multiplier, digital weight filter, main heterodyne, auxiliary heterodyne, digital control device, random-access memory, a unit of reference portraits, a reference signal convolution device with a portrait signal, an amplitude detector, a device for selecting a maximum value and its address, a threshold detection device, a unit of average deviation from symmetry, a threshold recognition device and a decision-making device.
EFFECT: technical result is high reliability of identifying aerial objects.
