FIELD: physics; navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar devices and can be used for identifying classes of aircraft using signal features. The invention aims at increasing probability of correct identification of aerodynamic aircraft in a quasi-optical region of reflection of radio waves. The proposed device for identifying aircraft adaptively uses frequency-angular fluctuation of a reflected linear-frequency-modulated radio pulse in order to decide on the class of an aircraft. During analysis there is analysis of the irregularity of the envelope of the peak of the echo signal and degree of variation of this envelope when the aircraft changes angular position relative the radar with maximum angular speed. The device for identifying aircraft with adaptive selection of the moment of analysis of the echo signal has a pulse modulator 1, power amplifier 2, antenna switch 3, antenna 4, second mixer 5, reference generator 6, first mixer 7, intermediate frequency amplifier 8, linear-frequency-modulated signal generator 9, amplitude detector 10, synchroniser 11, analogue-to-digital converter 12, correlation processing unit 13, identification unit 14, identification characteristic value calculating unit 15 and random access memory 16.
EFFECT: increased probability of correct identification of aerodynamic aircraft in a quasi-optical region of reflection of radio waves.
