FIELD: electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: gas-insulated low or medium voltage load (1) circuit breaker comprises: housing (2) defining body volume for holding insulating gas at ambient pressure; first arc-extinguishing contact (10) and second arc-extinguishing contact (20) located inside the housing volume, wherein the first and second arc-extinguishing contacts (10, 20) are movable relative to each other along load switch (1) axis and setting the blanking zone in which the arc is generated during the current cutoff operation; compression system (40) having compression chamber (42) located inside the housing volume for compression of the extinguishing gas from the ambient pressure p0 to quenching pressure pquench during the current cutoff operation; and nozzle system (30) located inside body volume for blowing compressed gas of quenching in the form of subsonic flow from compression chamber (42) to arc formed in zone of damping during current cutoff operation. Nozzle system (30) comprises at least one nozzle (33), configured to blow the extinguishing gas from the position outside the axis, preferably radially inward, to the quench zone.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of reliable arc suppression.
