FIELD: agriculture; machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machine building and can be used for oriented planting of mother plants of beets to obtain seeds. Roller directing device of the upsetting machine comprises a receiver, orienting the rollers, catching trays and a planting apparatus. Rollers consist of cylindrical and conical parts. On cylindrical part there is helical winding from elastic material with variable pitch. On the shafts of orienting rollers gear wheels are installed. Drive of orienting rollers is performed from wheels of upsetting machine via chain gear and conical reduction gear. Inclination tray angle to horizon is by 4…6 degrees more than friction angle of root crops sliding. Cross-section of catching tray has guide ledges.
EFFECT: roller orienting device improves reliability of oriented single-piece feeding of conic taper roots.
