SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sodium salt of 5-bromo-2-(α-hydroxypentyl)benzoic acid, as well as to a method for reducing cerebral injury caused by cerebral arterial obstruction, involving introduction of sodium salt of 5-bromo-2-(α-hydroxypentyl)benzoic acid, to a method for reducing the volume of a cerebral infarction area involving administering a sodium salt of 5-bromo-2-(α-hydroxypentyl)benzoic acid, to a method for reducing the volume of the cerebral edema, comprising administering a sodium salt of 5-bromo-2-(α-hydroxypentyl)benzoic acid, and to a method for preventing and treating ischemic heart and brain diseases, improving circulatory disorders of the heart and brain, or providing an antithrombotic effect, involving administering the sodium salt of 5-bromo-2-(α-hydroxy pentyl)benzoic acid.
EFFECT: disclosed is sodium salt of 5-bromo-2-(alpha-hydroxypentyl)benzoic acid.
