FIELD: organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for selective introduction of a protective group into a compound of formula (I). Method involves reacting a compound of formula (I) with a compound of formula (II) in an inert aprotic solvent in the presence of a base to obtain a compound of formula (III). In formulas (I)–(III), R1 and R2 independently represent hydrogen or halogen; or R1 and R2 form together with bearing carbon atoms a pyrone cycle, which is substituted with R3 and R4, where R3 and R4 are independently selected from hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 haloalkyl, C6-C10 aryl C1-C6 alkyl, NHCOC1-C6 alkyl; or R3 and R4 are bonded together to form 5- or 6-member carbocyclic moiety, optionally containing one or more double bonds; Z is CO and Y is OH or -N3.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to selectively introduce a protective group into resorcinol derivatives and 5,7-dihydroxycoumarin in one simple step.
