SUBSTANCE: device for aerosol generation, comprising a housing, in which a cigarette is inserted, a cap connected to the upper part of the housing with possibility of disconnection from it, a cover configured to slide over the upper surface of the cap for opening or closing the cigarette installation opening, first sensor configured to determine an open or closed state of the cigarette mounting opening, a second sensor configured to detect the cigarette in the housing, a heater disposed in the housing and configured to heat the cigarette inserted into the housing, and a controller configured to determine an open or closed state of the cigarette mounting hole based on the signal received from the first sensor, activating a second sensor for determining the open state of the cigarette-setting opening, detecting the presence of the cigarette in the body based on the signal received from the activated second sensor, and heater control so that heater is preheated to preset temperature, wherein the controller is also configured to lock the signal transmitted by the second sensor, when determining the closed state of the cigarette mounting hole.
