FIELD: smoking devices.

SUBSTANCE: proposed is an aerosol-generating apparatus and a heater for this apparatus. The aerosol-generating apparatus comprises a heater configured to generate aerosol by heating a cigarette, wherein the heater comprises a first electrically conductive heating element formed along a first track on an electrically insulating substrate, a second electrically conductive heating element formed along a second track on the electrically insulating substrate and a temperature control sensor formed along a third track in the area between the first and the second tracks. The accumulator is configured to supply energy to the heater, and the controller is configured to control energy supply from the battery to the heater and to control the temperature recorded by the temperature sensor. The heater comprises a heating area wherein the first electrically conductive heating element, the second electrically conductive heating element and the temperature control sensor are formed, and a non-heating area wherein the ends of the first electrically conductive heating element, the second electrically conductive heating element, and the temperature control sensor must be electrically connected with the accumulator.

EFFECT: placing a temperature control sensor between different electrically conductive heating elements on an electrically insulating substrate allows to determine the temperature in the heating area of the heater uniformly and accurately.
