FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for heating a substrate for generating an aerosol. Disclosed method is carried out by an electronic device and comprises the following steps: detecting the introduction of a cigarette using a sensor; displaying icons of supported types of cigarettes; in response to the type of cigarette detected by the sensor, a visual effect different from the other icons is applied to the icon corresponding to the type of cigarette; determining an appropriate heating profile based on user input for one of the icons denoting cut tobacco, granular filler and liquid; and heating the substrate to generate an aerosol in the cigarette based on the heating profile.
EFFECT: invention enables to create an electronic device for heating a substrate for generating an aerosol, which recognizes the type of cigarette, determines the heating profile based on the user input corresponding to the type of cigarette, and heats the substrate to generate the aerosol in the cigarette based on the heating profile.
