SUBSTANCE: absorbent article having a fluid holding system comprises a fluid-permeable body-facing liner material; liquid-impermeable outer coating; an absorbent core disposed between the padding material and the outer coating, wherein the absorbent core comprises a superabsorbent material and optionally fluff pulp; fabric core wrapper surrounding absorbing core, and distribution sublayer located between absorbing core and outer coating and in core wrapper, wherein the distribution sublayer comprises a three-dimensionally structured cellulose fabric non-woven material obtained by wet moulding. Distributing sublayer comprises opposite surfaces of distribution sublayer, each of which provides textured surface, wherein each surface comprises a middle plane of the material, a plurality of projections extending in the z direction from the median plane of the material, and a plurality of grooves alternating with the plurality of projections, wherein the depth of the grooves passes in the opposite direction z from the middle plane of the material.

EFFECT: disclosed is an absorbent article with improved retention of fluid medium.
