DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR DEEP SOMATIC PAIN SENSITIVITY Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2738947 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in clinical examinations in neurology, neurosurgery and diving medicine for quantitative determination of the threshold of deep pain sensitivity. Method provides for application of electrodes on human forearm inner surface, exposure to rectangular electric current pulses and determination of response to stimulation, wherein exposure to electric current is carried out by pulses of two-phase current at frequency of 35–40 Hz with increase in voltage from 0 to 24 V for 30 s and width of pulse from 80 to 450 mcs, and pulsed electric current voltage readings are recorded at values causing pain.

EFFECT: implementation of the developed method will improve safety of treatment of decompression sickness in divers due to objective diagnosis of somatic pain sensitivity, prevention of adverse consequences of long-term presence of the patients under high pressure (nitrogen narcosis and oxygen poisoning), reduced doses of the medicinal substances taken.
