ACOUSTIC-RESONANCE METHOD OF NON-DESTRUCTIVE INSPECTION OF PIPELINES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01N29/04

Abstract RU 2739144 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing of materials and can be used for detection of defects in pipelines. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that at each end of the controlled section of the pipeline is installed on the acoustic transducer. Sound-proof casing is installed on each acoustic transducer. At distance of not more than 20 cm from one acoustic transducer emitter of vibroacoustic signals is installed. Acoustic signals are generated in the pipeline by the vibroacoustic signals emitter in the frequency spectrum from 200 to 20,000 Hz. Synchronous fixation of acoustic transducers of acoustic signals is carried out. Fixed acoustic signals are filtered to isolate natural vibration frequencies of the defects. Frequencies of intrinsic vibrations of defects of various sizes are calculated, and a confidence interval is generated by frequency characteristics of said defects. Frequency characteristics of the acoustic signals are compared with a confidence interval of frequency characteristics of the defects, if the frequency characteristics of the acoustic signals fall within the limits of the confidence interval, the presence of the defect is determined. Parameters of the defect are determined from the frequency characteristics, amplitude and shape of the acoustic signals. Location of the pipeline defect is determined from the speed of propagation of acoustic signals in the transported medium and the time of propagation of acoustic signals from the source of acoustic signals to acoustic transducers.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of operative performance of works on detection of defects in pipelines with high degree of reliability and low material costs.
