FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic control of high-voltage rectifier power supply units of electric filters of gas purification by rectified high-voltage current. Breakdown occurs in settling space of electric precipitator during operation of system "rectifier unit - electric filter". Correction of recovery time after breakdown in interelectrode space of electric filter field and duration of quenching after spark breakdown is performed automatically with certain periodicity. In a multi-field electric filter, a static mode is successively set on each subsequent field of the electrostatic precipitator, in which there are no spark breakdown. At the same time on the previous field operating in automatic mode parameters of speed of voltage increase, depth of development and duration of pause of the suppression are changed. When minimum voltage values and maximum current values are reached, data on speed of voltage rise, working depth and duration of quenching pause on the previous filter field are recorded on the next field. After that, the changed parameters are fixed and the process proceeds to the following filter fields.

EFFECT: higher degree of gas purification due to increase of average voltage on electric filter in mode of spark and arc breakdowns.
