FIELD: systems of automatic control over high-voltage rectifying plants supplying gas cleaning electric filters with high-voltage rectified current. SUBSTANCE: to keep average value of voltage across electric filter at maximum possible level system of automatic control determines possibility of transition of puncture to arc discharge and extinguishes it by blanking power thyristors of plant for certain time. In this case value of average current through electric filter is measured right before puncture. If this current is less than some critical value duration of extinguishing pause is set to be equal to zero. If this current is equal to or exceeds this critical value then duration of extinguishing pause is set depending on absolute value of average current: greater duration of extinguishing pause corresponds to greater value of current.
