FIELD: chemistry; pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry and pharmacology, and can be used for quantitative measurement of antiproliferative activity of interferon-beta preparations. Method for quantitative determination of antiproliferative activity of interferon-beta with respect to tumour cells involves cultivation of tumour cells in the presence of interferon-beta with further determination of the content of living cells. Cultivation of tumour cells with interferon-beta is carried out in the presence of human effector cells, such as human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Tumour cells are human adenocarcinoma cells HT-29. Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells are used in quantitative ratio within 5:1–10:1 in relation to tumour cells. Tumour cells are cultured in the presence of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells 4 to 8 days, preferably for 5 days.

EFFECT: technical result is quantitative evaluation of antiproliferative activity of interferon-beta in relation to tumour cells, including in insufficiently expressed direct action of interferon-beta on tumour or its complete absence.
