SUBSTANCE: invention relates to charging a battery for a mobile terminal. Said technical result is achieved by the fact that the method includes charging of the mobile terminal battery with constant power so that the charging voltage is gradually increased, and charging current gradually decreases, wherein product of charging voltage and charging current at any moment in time has constant value or is in constant range. At that, the mobile terminal battery is charged with the first constant power determined based on the average charging power supported by the mobile terminal, when the maximum output power of the charging device is greater than or equal to the average charging power and the second constant power determined based on the maximum output power of the charging device, when maximum output power is less than average charging power supported by mobile terminal.
EFFECT: technical result is increase of charging speed without initiation of overheat protection mechanism.
