FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing absorbers used in respiratory protection devices, in particular to a method for thermoforming a carbon dioxide absorber. Method involves impregnation of a fibrous substrate, which is represented by Spunlace 2 material sheets, by laying a first sheet of Spunlace material 2, paste 3 applied thereto, containing a solution of potato starch and alkali metal hydroxide, preferably lithium, and placing on it a second sheet of Spunlace material 2, exposure forming tool used as Teflon mesh 1, in press with heated plate, wherein grid 2 is placed between plate of press 4 and first sheet of Spunlace material 2, thermal compression treatment of package of materials at temperature of 220 ± 2 °C at pressure of 0.5–2 MPa for 0.5–10 minutes, separation of teflon mesh from thermoformed absorber and its cooling to temperature of 20 ± 5 °C in sealed container.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain an absorber having a higher sorption capacity and a protective action time, simple in hardware and in a method of operation.
