FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of insulation of a recoil rail in a tunnel or coal mine and determination of its transient resistance. Essence: connecting the rail to the negative electrode of the substation. Location at the connection point is selected as the checking point. Potential detection device is installed in the verification point. Locating distance determination device and locomotive traction current determination device are installed. Locomotive moves to the substation along the recoil rail. Data are collected on potentials, on distance travelled and data of traction current, which are transmitted to control unit. Control unit determines the potential jump based on the received data on the potential corresponding to the jump time, and the distance of the locomotive run at the moment of the jump, as well as the total distance of the locomotive run in order to determine the earthing fault damage.
EFFECT: technical result: immediate and easy determination of fault location point of earthing of a recoil rail in real time during operation, simple design of a detection system.
