FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method and mobile device for control of integrity of rail threads is carried out by comparing traction currents in rail threads between locomotive bogies. Receiving coils with L-shaped core are placed above rails at distance of 10–20 mm above rail head. Coil windings are connected in opposite directions; therefore, with sound rail threads, total EMF does not exceed 10 % of similar EMF at damaged rail thread. If one of the rail threads is faulty, the total EMF increases above the threshold value, at that moment the locomotive locus is fixed, and the position of the receiving station is transmitted over the radio channel with information on the coordinate of the damage point.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of rail threads integrity monitoring.
