METHOD FOR SIMULATING DIET-INDUCED METABOLIC SYNDROME Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A01K67/02

Abstract RU 2740007 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine. Method for simulating diet-induced metabolic syndrome in laboratory animals involves using a high-fat and high-carbohydrate diet, characterized in that animals receive ration for 12 weeks, containing standard fodder (specific weight 66 %) with addition of animal fat (melted lard, specific weight 17 %), fructose (specific weight 17 %), cholesterol (specific gravity 0.1 %), and consuming 20 % solution of fructose instead of drinking water.

EFFECT: technical result is a model of metabolic syndrome, adequately reflecting the main features of metabolic disorders developing in the given syndrome.
