FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, in particular to means of determining capacity of capacitive sensors, remote from terminal at some distance and used as sensors of different physical values, for example, pressure, humidity, mechanical movement. Method for determining capacitance sensor capacitance consists in that, first, the sensor is disconnected from the connecting line at its end, the oscillation period value is measured and stored at the output of the multivibrator, the frequency-forming circuit of which is connected to the line. After connecting the sensor to the line, the oscillation period value at the output of the multivibrator is again measured and memorized. Value of sensor capacitance is determined by difference of oscillation periods. Device for determining capacitance sensor capacitance comprises a multivibrator, a frequency meter, a storage and computing device, a connecting line, a switch, a shunting capacitor and a capacitive sensor connected to each other in a certain manner.

EFFECT: technical result is simplification of capacitance sensor capacity determination process and improvement of determination accuracy.
