FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics, particularly sonar detection (SD), and can be used when detecting underwater and surface high-speed small objects (HSO). Disclosed is a method for sonar detection of a high-speed small-size object, comprising emitting into water with a discrete receiving-emitting antenna in a non-directional mode of a pulsed probing signal, reception of an echo signal reflected from an object by a discrete receiving-emitting antenna with a static fan of directional characteristics and preliminary determination of probable coordinates of the object, radiation of a discrete receiving-emitting antenna of a pulsed probing signal in a directed mode in the direction of the object and reception of an echo signal by the discrete receiving-emitting antenna using it using Doppler filtration with updating coordinates of the object, in which reception in non-directional mode is carried out without Doppler filtration, when receiving an extended echo signal, the pulse duration of which exceeds the duration of pulses of the probing signal, a decision is made that the echo signal source is the wake trail, thereafter, the directed radiation is directed to the wake head part having the highest intensity of the echo signal, and the refined coordinates of the object are determined as coordinates of the wake head part.
EFFECT: increased range and reliability of HSO detection.
