FIELD: determining rheological properties of liquids and loose bodies.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for measurement of effective viscosity. Method of measuring viscosity of liquids and loose bodies consists of a cylindrical sealed high-pressure vessel of radius R, height H, inclined plane with height h, wherein the roughness of the cylinder and the inclined plane is much less than the radius of the cylinder, and the dynamic viscosity η is determined by rolling speed ν cylinder, half filled with analyzed medium η=((M+m)g·h−(ν2/2)·(2M+m))/(π·ν·H·h/sinα), where M and m are masses of cylinder and medium, respectively, α—angle of inclination of plane, g—acceleration of free fall of 9.81 m/s2, π=3.14.
EFFECT: technical result is fast determination of dynamic viscosity of fluids (including non-Newtonian) and effective viscosity of granular materials.
