FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding and ship repair and can be used in assessing technical condition of ship hulls. Disclosed is method of determining residual thicknesses of hull skin external lining, which consists in the fact that with the use of electron-optical devices the outer and inner sides of external lining of preset section of ship hull with wear are successively scanned. Three-dimensional models of external and internal surfaces of lining are built, and residual thickness of external lining is defined as difference of distances between models of external and internal sides of lining of ship hull.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of safety of vessels operation and reduction of labor intensity of determination of residual thicknesses of external lining of ship hull.
