FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: it is provided for a digital vector 3D model of the outer surface of a reservoir at its filling by calibration fluid in separate fixed doses, for this purpose scanning of the reservoir outer surface is carried out with the help of a ground laser scanner with linear discretisation of scanning pitch within 2-5 mm at least from four scanner stations and in accordance with operating documents for the device. The scans are combined, and the quality of the obtained data combination is controlled by completion of the following conditions: mean square error of a unit of scan combination weight shall not exceed ±3 mm, deviation of coordinates of special marks location shall not exceed ±5 mm, mean square error for detection of elements of exterior orientation for linear values shall not exceed ±2 mm, and for angular values -±15". Data of ground laser scanning results are processed with the help of special software which provides for the affixment of the scan to the specified coordinate system, scanning and processing are carried out each time the reservoir is filled by calibration fluid in separate fixed doses, the obtained digital data are transferred to a special computer programme where comparison of the obtained outer reservoir surface models for each measurement provides for the determination of the reservoir calibration characteristic in the form of a digital vector 3D model of the outer reservoir surface corresponding to the height of its filling by calibration fluid.
EFFECT: higher reliability and accuracy of calibration of a vertical cylindrical reservoir to detect the capacity corresponding to the height of its filling.
