SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for automated determination whether an image has been modified. Digital image for verification is obtained by means of a computing device. Digital image is analyzed to determine the probability that at least one of the digital image or object displayed on the digital image has been modified, wherein the analysis comprises at least two of the following operations. Analysis of digital image to detect change in pixel density from first section of digital image to second section of digital image. Comparison of digital image with digital image thumbnail in order to detect difference between digital image and thumbnail. Analyzing metadata of a digital image to determine whether editing software was used on a digital image.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of determining whether the image has been modified.
