SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Device for implementing a database comprises a processor and a storage device which stores a database table with a plurality of records, each having a composite key comprising a version identifier; storage device also stores instructions executable to cause the processor to generate a first virtual clone of the database table and a second virtual clone of the database table, receive request in first virtual clone and modify request so that it contains identifier of version of first virtual clone; processor may request a database table using the modified request to generate a response based in part on each record from the set of records having the version identifier, an ancestor-associated first version identifier of the first virtual clone, and send a response; each composite key contains a version identifier and a part of data.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of database replication and interaction with it.
