FIELD: resonance-intensified drilling.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for converting rotary motion into oscillatory axial movement comprises a rotary member, basic element and one or more bearings to ensure rotary motion of rotating element relative to basic element. Rotating element and/or basic element comprise one or more raised sections and/or one or more lowered sections, along which one or more bearings pass for periodic increase and decrease of axial distance between rotating element and base element, when rotation occurs, thereby providing oscillatory axial movement to the rotating member relative to the base member. One or more bearings is a rolling bearing. Raised and/or lowered sections are made in form of smooth changes in thickness of rotating element and/or basic element. Raised and/or lowered sections are made in the form of a raceway or groove made in a rotating element and/or in a base element, note here that said raceway or groove retains one or more bearings.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of drilling, increased drilling speed, as well as stability and quality of wellbore, with limitation of operational wear of device for increase of its service life, as well as more accurate control of resonance-enhanced drilling, in particular, when drilling through rocks of rapidly changing types.
