FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry and relates to a method for producing erythrulose. Disclosed is a method of producing erythrulose from dihydroxyacetone and formaldehyde by aldol condensation, characterized in that process of aldol condensation of formaldehyde and dihydroxyacetone is carried out while heating to temperature not higher than 80 °C in aqueous solution at pH 7.54–8.71, where pH is controlled by amount of introduced heterogeneous catalyst, which is zeolite-like imidazolate frame ZIF, formed by cations Zn (II), Co (II), Fe (II), Cd (II) and organic linkers selected from imidazole, 2-methylimidazole, 2-ethylimidazole and imidazole-2-carboxyaldehyde.
EFFECT: novel efficient method of producing erythrulose.
