FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. A preoperative examination is performed, an absolute accommodation volume, a crystalline lens transparency, ametropia are evaluated, and the obtained evaluations are assigned points. Volume of absolute accommodation equal to or more than 3.0 diopters is assigned 0 points, less than 3.0 diopters is assigned 1 point, absence of accommodation is assigned 2 points. A completely transparent crystalline lens is assigned 0 points, a lens with initial opacity on periphery - 1 point is assigned, a lens with opacifications on the periphery and in center - 2 points are assigned. Absence of ametropia - assigning 0 points, ametropia less than 1.0 diopters - assigning 1 point, ametropia in 1.0 diopter and more - assigning 2 points. Obtained points are summed up, and total score of 0-3 makes preventive peripheral laser iridectomy. If the total score is 4-6, a phacoemulsification is performed with an intraocular lens implantation.
EFFECT: method enables determining a surgical approach in patients with a latent stage of closed angle glaucoma taking into account the anatomical and functional characteristics of the eye in order to achieve maximum visual acuity, prevention of progression of closed-angle glaucoma, which provides high quality of life of the patient.
