FIELD: physics; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of physical and chemical measurements and can be used for quality control of galvanic coatings of articles, in particular for articles having an inner cavity. Measurement of current intensity in electrochemical cell between working electrode from coating material, for example, chromium and auxiliary platinum electrode while maintaining potential of working electrode equal to potential spontaneously installed on inner surface of article with galvanic coating. Further determination of article coating porosity value using pre-plotted function of current density dependence function from galvanic coating electrochemical potential on article inner surface. With an increase of number of experimental data increases accuracy of determining function of porosity dependence on current density. If the porosity value does not exceed the allowable value, the coating is considered to meet the required characteristics.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of measurement accuracy of galvanic coating porosity in articles mainly containing inner cavities due to increased validity of measured results by calculation of porosity depending on value of corrosion current of analysed coating.
