FIELD: information security of automated information systems.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used in comparative assessment of information systems for their resistance to catastrophes. Said technical result is achieved due to that in used for communication of automated information systems (AIS) subscribers by means of scaling (renormalization) its topological scheme is reformed into a simplified square grid of four nodes (2×2), selecting alternative routes of message packets for each pair of alternative connections to subscriber communication network and memorizing alternative routes of message packets for each j-variant of connection of subscribers, comparing the value of the integrated safety indicator PCi with the predetermined minimum allowable value PCmin, with PCi<PCmin storing the i-th node as "dangerous", otherwise storing the node as "safe", then critical ratio of "dangerous" and "safe" nodes is calculated for each j-th version of connection of subscribers, at which adjacent "dangerous" units form chains, which exclude exchange between subscribers.
EFFECT: technical result is higher reliability of stability evaluation.
